- A no-show on a thirty-minute cut is annoying. A no-show on a three-hour balayage is the afternoon gone, and it is almost never fillable at short notice because nothing else that long fits. The longer and more profitable the service, the more expensive the empty chair, and the less likely you are to recover it.

- She came in eight months ago, loved the colour, and now wants the same again. What was it? Which developer, how long, on which base? Written on a card that is somewhere, or remembered approximately. Getting it wrong once undoes a client you spent two years building.

- Deposits are set per service, not for everything. Leave the cut free to book and ask for a deposit on colour, which is where a no-show actually hurts. The commitment becomes real exactly where the risk is.

- Colours, products, developer, timing and your own notes stay on the client's record, with the full history of what was done. Eight months later you open her file rather than trying to remember, and the result is the same one she loved.
